Celebrating the Bavarian way means having tons of fun while enjoying great beer and delicious food. There are a lot of fans of the Bavarian way of enjoying life. And because not everyone can make the “pilgrimage” to the original, people have been going to their own, local Oktoberfest celebrations for some time. A cheery get-together, a relaxed atmosphere - the pleasure of celebrating brings people together. And singing “Ein Prosit” with a cold ERDINGER Weissbier makes people happy no matter where they are.

Party like the Bavarians
Anyone can drink beer. Singing loudly and swaying – no problem. But: tradition dictates that certain rules of behavior have to be observed, even after the third “Mass” (1-liter glass).
Fun for all – 5 beer tent tips
1. Cheers
What to do
- Hold your “Mass” by the handle. In exceptional cases, women are allowed to use both hands.
What not to do
- Put your hand through the handle. Although allowed for women, watch out when toasting. A delicate female finger between two hefty beer glasses can hurt.
2. Thanks waitress!
What to do
- Serving staff always have right of way in the beer tent. And: even in beer tents, tipping is always right!
What not to do
- Stand in the way – even if it’s full, the aisles must always be free. And please don't force the waitress to give you every cent of your change.
3. Toilets
What to do
- Go in good time. For women in particular: don't forget you’ll probably have to stand in line. Make sure you have 50 cents on you.
What not to do
- Go when you absolutely have to and then jump the queue.
4. Dance
What to do
- When you’re sat on a bench, it’s all about moving your arms – and of course clapping in 4/4 time.
What not to do
- Wild movements, holding on to your neighbor, pushing people back.
5. Costume
What to do
- If in doubt: ask a professional costume fitter for advice.
What not to do
- Ladies: underskirts showing, “Enzian” neck scarves, miniskirts, wild combinations of garish colors, sneakers, random ribbon-tying, black with white blouse (unless you’re serving staff), high-heels, T-shirts with Dirndl print, “Bavarian-style” fashion items.
- Men: silly hats, “Bavarian-style” fashion items, sneakers, T-shirts of all kinds, short Lederhosen and Loferl socks without the necessary calf muscles.
